The Virgin London Marathon, the world’s largest charity race, is now on RaceMyRace.com - the Google Earth based Race Simulator.

See the course, select from various viewpoints, including a Racer’s Eye prospective, add your split times, re-run the Race at whatever speed you want, jump to different parts of the route, see how you compare to other racers or see how this great city looks using StreetView …. and much more.

The London marathon is one of the many races available on RaceMyRace although it is in the most basic form offered. Some other races include searchable Results and various premium content added by Race Organisers and Sponsors.

RaceMyRace is free to use but also has a membership option that allows users to save the data they add and remember any settings they may change.

The site is under constant development adding new features and is always open to new ideas.

For Race organisers and Sponsors the replayer can be themed to your look and feel and embedded within your site - and can include any number of bespoke Placemarks, Models and information.

GE Plugin and dynamic URLs.

Recently a question was raised on the GE boards about how to use a dynamic URL to goto to a specific placemark within a KMZ when you load your GE enabled site.

While there are alternatives to doing that - like giving the user options to click within your site - going to a (changeable) default location on load can be useful.
